Roasted Chicken in a New Wolf Oven
Reclaim the Kitchen with Wolf OTHERS DO OUR COOKING FOR US. Did you know in 1900 we ate 98% of our meals in our homes? Today, it’s less than 50%. We spend hours watching cooking shows but a mere 31 minutes a day preparing meals ourselves. There is a solution, though. Reclaiming your kitchen is easy. Just cook. Here's a recipe from Wolf for delicious roasted chicken with roasted potatoes and asparugus. The roasted chicken recipe and preparation are below. Access the recipe for the roasted potatoes and asparagus from reclaimthekitchen.com: ROASTED CHICKEN INGREDIENTS: For the chicken:1 whole chicken (3½ to 4 pounds)1 small bunch fresh thyme sprigs1 tablespoon olive oilKosher saltFreshly ground black pepper DESCRIPTION: Serving four people, this meal is easy to bring together. By using a method called "spatchcocking," as well as not needing to preheat the oven, you can put a great dinner on the table in about an hour.PREPARATION: First spatchcock the chicken. This is a simple and effective way of roasting a chicken in less time than a whole chicken traditionally takes. To prepare the chicken, place it on a cutting board breast side down with the thighs towards you. Beginning at the thigh end, use a pair of kitchen shears and cut along one side of the backbone. Turn the chicken around, so the thighs are away from you and cut along the other side of the backbone. The backbone can be discarded or saved for making stock. Flip the chicken over and -

New Miele Range a Winner in Las VegasMiele Appliances shown at KBIS/IBS 2015It's hard to come away a winner when you go to Las Vegas. But, the new Miele range was a good bet at the 2015 Design and Construction Week (*KBIS/IBS) show in January. Miele partnered up with some top kitchen brands (Haefele, Bauformat, and Cosentino) to showcase their luxury appliance brand. The new Miele Range, their first EVER, was a huge hit. (To clarify, Miele has been very successful in cooking products such as built-in cooktops and ovens over the years, but they've not ventured into the range business until now).Miele's range model line up consists of several configurations in 30", 36", and 48" ranges. The range line has been eight years in the making, and the attention to detail shows in the innovative features, and stunning Miele design, not to mention the durable construction. Miele's 30" range weighs in at 337 lbs. Compare that to the 160 lbs. of a typical Whirlpool gas range. You might also expect state of the art technology in a range of this class, and Miele does not disappoint. With a high-tech control panel that includes their exclusive MasterChef electronic controls, the new Miele features algorithms to perfectly cook many foods, and it will also store your own special recipes. Placement of Wall Ovens
Finding the Ideal Location for Your Wall Oven Many customers spend hours on the internet, and in showrooms researching wall ovens for their new kitchen. Should it be a single oven, double oven, or combination oven/microwave? Is convection important? What about steam? HOLD ON!! First things first! You need to have a kitchen layout, before you begin the selection process. Where will the oven or ovens be located, and are you going to have the requisite power available? Not too high nor too low, but just right for YOU. Unfortunately, wall ovens too often get placed either too high or too low for convenient operation. Since it's a new installation, why should you settle? You don't want an oven control panel so high that you need to be on your tiptoes to operate it. Nor do you want one so low that your back goes into spasms every time you place an item on the lower rack. Take a moment before deciding on the perfect oven to find the perfect location for the oven. New oven designs are available so that you can also choose among traditional drop down oven doors, side swing doors, or even French doors. Click below for blogs covering: Appliance trends French door and side swing ovens Would one of these new options work well for you? Here are a few choices to consider: Microwaves are now often finding new places to fit in the kitchen. Counter height is ideal, but not always practical. Undercounter is -

Many Major Appliances are Made in the U.S.
Where are cooking appliances made? Customers often want to know where an appliance is manufactured. A surprising number of major appliances sold in the U.S. are manufactured here also. Let's take a look at cooking products. Here are where the Big 3 appliance manufacturers in the U.S. (Whirlpool, Electrolux/Frigidaire, and GE) make their ranges, cooktops, and ovens. Whirlpool Corporation also includes Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, and Maytag brands. They have a large facility (one million sq. ft.) in Cleveland, Tenn. where freestanding and slide-in ranges are built, as well as cooktops and wall ovens. In addition, they also build some ranges in their Tulsa, Oklahoma facility. Headquartered in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Whirlpool is the largest appliance manufacturer in the world. Over 80% of the appliances that Whirlpool sells in the U.S. are manufactured here. Whirlpool claims to employ more U.S. workers than all their competitors combined. Electrolux/Frigidaire has their range factory in Springfield, Tennessee, and has build a new cooktop facility near Memphis. It's worth noting that the Swedish firm Electrolux is the 2nd largest appliance manufacturer in the world, and has a major U.S. presence. GE makes ranges and ovens in their Roper facility in Lafayette, GA. GE also has strong ties to Mabe, a Mexican appliance company that builds GE's gas ranges. In spite of GE's affiliation with Mabe (GE has a 48% stake), GE is a leader in "insourcing", and has been adding appliance manufacturing jobs in the U.S. for several years. In addition, GE is quite proud
