Came in a few weeks ago for a new fridge. Mine gave out on me after years of use so my husband and I decided to get a brand new stainless steel fridge. We went to a few different stores before we came here. The other stores didn't have any of the ones we wanted in stock and said they weren't gonna have them available for weeks. We came to Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center and they had the one we wanted in stock and shipped it to us in less that a week. Fast and to the point service. Definitely should have come here in the first place.

Nicholas likes Maida's “very professional help”

I was in the market for three appliances (stackable washer/dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher) and kind of stumbled onto Universal Appliance at Laurel Canyon/Ventura. I was eating at one of the nearby restaurants in the 'mini-mall', saw the store and ventured in. It was very impressive…the showroom space is a lot larger than it first appears. They have a large selection of current model appliances from all of the major manufacturers…mostly medium and high-end brands. I ended up buying a Bosch dishwasher, Jenn Air refrigerator and Maytag stackable washer/dryer.

What initially 'sold' me was the very professional help that I received from Maida, one of the sales associates. I had a few logistic/space problems that she helped me overcome. She would scour the computer for inventory and print up sheets on what I was considering. She would then take me to the exact model (or one similar) on the floor to discuss advantages/drawbacks of each appliance. The prices were totally competitive with what I had seen at the two other major appliance stores I had already shopped.

There was no major wait (maybe a week?) to get the items. The delivery guys showed up on time and installed everything properly. I did have one issue with the dryer not heating and within two days of my call, they sent someone out who was able to troubleshoot the problem and fix it quickly (at no charge).

What I liked about Maida is that she stayed in touch with me all along the way. She'd e-mail me a few days before a delivery just to remind me something was coming. She also took care of the paperwork required to get one of my manufacturers rebate. I made four or five phone calls to her during this process (what type of vent? what's the height? can the delivery guys bring…? etc.) and all calls were promptly returned the same day (except one when she was off and then she called me on her first day back).

I was very happy with the selection, service and consultative help that I received from my sales associate, Maida. Everyone may not have the same great experience that I had, but you should certainly include Universal when looking for appliances.

I visited the store on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. The salesperson who assisted me was Leon. He was 100% professional, very knowledgeable and placed no pressure to buy. Leon was hands down the best appliance sales professional I have dealt with in my entire career. Additionally, their prices were the best I have found. I am going to replace all the appliances in my kitchen to update and convert to a stainless steel finish and I will definitely purchase everything from Leon at Universal. Wow…what service, just like the old days!! Redoing our kitchen and found great prices on-line at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center!! We bought several appliances and saved hundreds of dollars!!! Universal stored our purchaces till we got things lined up. In the middle of the job we had to change the order. “Costa” said no problem, cheerfully changed the order and credited our account. Even though I live hundreds of miles away, I will continue to do business with Universal and especially Costa.

PS: Packing and shipping of our appliances was the best I've seen.

I have been a customer there for many years and have purchased several appliances through store manager Long Trinh and his associates. Recently, we had to buy a refrigerator, to replace one that was losing cooling ability. Over a period of weeks, Mr. Trinh helped determine which refrigerator best fit our needs and was honest and forthright about getting me best value and price. His assistant manager Maida facilitated the transaction and informed me about a manufacturer's rebate program then in effect.

On delivery day, Michael & Serg professionally installed the refrigerator, taking care with the unit, floors, and furniture. They also took care in drilling holes for the ice maker water line, removed all packaging and installed shelves, and levelled the unit. They also made sure it was working before leaving.
