Bertazzoni Appliances
The Italians are Coming! NO - They're Here!!The Colors of Bertazzoni at Universal Appliance and Kitchen CenterIt's been a few years since Bertazzoni launched their appliances in the U.S. Now they've got some company with other Italian appliance brands joining in. Its great to have company. Nevertheless, Bertazzoni does have that something. - That je na sais quoi that makes it a stand out. Just check out this stunning range below:PRO48 6G DFS ARThis super-wide range has a cooktop with six gas burners, including a dual-ring power burner, high-efficiency burner with separately controlled flames, and a stainless-steel electric griddle. The main electric oven has nine functions, from convection, baking and roasting to warming and includes telescopic glide shelves. The pyrolytic oven linings requires no cleaning agents. High temperatures burn off fat and grease leaving a safe, easily disposed of residue. The useful auxiliary oven, without fan, has four modes. Quadruple-glass doors minimise heat loss.Matching range hood and backsplash available.Bertazzoni historyIt all started in the late 19th century when Francesco Bertazzoni, founder of the dynasty, saw wood burning stoves arriving in his home town Guastalla on a new railroad that connected with the industrial centers of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. These wood-burning stoves set Francesco to thinking, and with his son Antonio he decided to make stoves like the ones they had seen from the north – just for local use to begin with, and in very small quantities. So in 1882 the Bertazzoni company was born.To see more of the Bertazzoni appliance collection -

Microwave Oven Advances Improve Results
Speed Cook Advantium Microwave from GEIf it's been a few years since you've purchased a microwave oven, you owe it to yourself to check out the advances in microwave technology that have occurred. For example, GE's Advantium® technology described below provides unsurpassed results thanks to halogen lights:WHAT IS ADVANTIUM TECHNOLOGY?Advantium technology harnesses the power of light. The outside of the food is cooked like a conventional oven, with radiant heat produced by halogen bulbs above and below the food. This halogen-produced heat receives a boost of microwave energy. The result? Foods brown and cook evenly and fast, while retaining their natural moisture. In addition to the cooking excellence, Advantium® allows you to cook using FOUR different modes:ADVANTIUM PROVIDES VERSATILITYAdvantium offers 4 ovens in 1 - Speedcook,True European Convection, Sensor Microwave, and Warming/Proofing ovens - and comes in several different configurations to fit any kitchen design.Advantium ovens are available as Over-the-Range Micro-Hood combination, Single Wall-Oven, Combination Advantium Conventional Wall-Oven. Appliances for Christmas
Holiday Gift Suggestions at Universal Appliance and Kitchen CenterA dishwasher may not be a good Christmas gift. There's a saying, "When you're a hammer everything looks like a nail."For someone who spends their days, months, and years around appliances, bringing home a new dishwasher as a Christmas gift for your wife just makes sense right?....not! Take it from me, that's a lesson you'll never need to learn a second time. However, that doesn't mean that an appliance cannot be a good Christmas present under the right circumstances. For example, in my case, a nice wine cellar or built-in ice machine would be a gift that I'd love. For both of us, a built-in espresso machine would be a superb gift to ourselves.Think of what your spouse would really love to have in the house that would make this Christmas special. Hint: it may not be new washing machine (even a red one)! And by the way, if it is a new Wolf Countertop Convection Oven, show your good taste by topping it off with a long stemmed rose, accompanied with a gift card to her favorite restaurant! Theres still time. Stop by one of the Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center showrooms for more last minute ideas from our appliance and plumbing fixture experts. -

Pros and Cons of Stainless Steel Appliances
Choosing Appliance FinishesStainless steel appliances are de rigueur these days. It seems that whether you live in a tract home or a mansion, you're going to end up with stainless steel. Everyone will tell you that you need stainless steel for you home's resale value, and there may be some truth in that. In addition, in some more exclusive brands, it appears that stainless steel is all that they offer. It wasn't always this way, but stainless steel gradually took over when people started expressing an interest in restaurant or commercial style appliances in their kitchen. Here are some of the other reasons homeowners give for choosing stainless:Sanitary "hospital" cleanliness.Doesn't rust or stain (Duh - it's stainless).Appealing, shiny appearanceEasily wipes offDurable finish - can't chipenhances resale value of houseSome products are available only in stainless (eg. built-in coffee maker)While stainless steel is not going away soon, there are many alternatives. White and black are still standard finishes for entry level brands. Frigidaire has a version of stainless steel that doesn't show fingerprints -really, it works. GE has a slate finish which clearly isn't stainless, it's a dull grey finish, but works for a faux stainless look without the disadvantages of stainless. It accepts magnets and doesn't require the polishing. Most premium brands will also offer white and black appliances with stainless upgrades, though I've heard of at least one brand offering customers a choice of only black or stainless appliances.
