5 High Tech Kitchen Innovations to Make Your Life Better

A more efficient appliance can undoubtedly make your life easier, and this is particularly true when it comes to working in the kitchen. In the last decade, we have had a number of high tech kitchen innovations that were beyond the range of an average budget. But, these technologies have matured, they are becoming more affordable, and we are starting to see them in many new appliances. In this article, we will look at five exciting new kitchen innovations to make your life better.

  1. Microwave Barcode Scanners

Many people are unsure of the times required for microwave cooking or defrosting, and this can lead to less than impressive results. Some of the most up to date microwave ovens coming onto the market may have barcode scanners. The microwave barcode scanner with read the barcodes on your food packaging, and it will automatically set itself to the correct settings. This takes all the guesswork and math out of the process, and your microwaving results will improve.

2. WiFi Connectivity

A casual glance around yourself in any location will reveal a large number of people checking their smartphones. Our world is now connected via WiFi, which leads to a number of interesting possibilities. A smartphone with an accompanying app is an excellent tool for remote control over smart devices in your home. We can now adjust many aspects of our home remotely, and this includes pre-heating the oven as you make your way home from work.

3. Trivection Ovens

For many decades we have used convection ovens to improve the speed and efficiency of the cooking process. But, General Electric has now released a new type of oven technology that’s likely to become more popular in the years to come. This is known as “trivection oven technology,” and it uses a combination of three different cooking methods. A trivection oven uses, convection, microwave, and thermal cooking processes to cook food in a fraction of the time.

4. Tablet Cooktops

At the moment, this is still a concept, but Whirlpool has unveiled an “Interactive Cooktop” prototype that has a “tablet style control surface.” Essentially, this is a touch sensitive table interface that looks like something out of a science fiction movie. The user places their pot onto the smooth surface and then draws a circle using their finger around the base of the pot. This designated circle then becomes the hot cooking surface, and the user only needs to set the desired temperature and cooking time. The interactive cooktop can also display recipe information, the current contents of your smart fridge, and updates via an app, text, or phone call. It will be very interesting to see where this technology will lead and how useful it may become in the future.

5. WiFi Enabled Instantpot

The Instantpot has been an absolute game changer since its introduction, and many people have purchased one in recent years. For the uninitiated, an Instantpot is a computer controlled pressure cooker that can warm, steam, and cook many foods in around half the time compared to traditional methods. Now things are starting to get even more interesting with an Instantpot that has WifFi connections for remote control. Simply connect with the Instantpot via Alexa or an app, and you can manage the cooking process directly from your smartphone in real time.

If you’re thinking about upgrading one or more of your kitchen appliances for a high tech alternative, you can explore your options with this online collection or seek advice from a home appliance specialist to help you make the switch to new kitchen technologies.
