Duct-Free Downdraft Solves Ventilation Problems
Powerful cooktops require effective ventilation. Today's cooktops offer more powerful gas burners and electric elements than ever before. As a result of all that power, it's important to have good ventilation. Few appliance manufacturers know more about ventilation than Jenn-Air. The founder of Jenn-Air, Louis Jenn, was a ventilation expert long before he entered the appliance business. Jenn-Air introduced the first self-ventilated cooktop in 1961, and recently has introduced an exclusive breakthrough duct-free downdraft. Jenn-Air's selection of JX3™ downdraft cooktops are the most powerful downdraft units in the industry - AND - they have the most powerful blower to efficiently remove all the smoke and steam directly from the cooking surface. But that's not all. Locating and installing ductwork for a ventilation system is often problematic. Not any more. Jenn-Air offers an accessory duct-free downdraft kit for its line of JX3™ electric and gas downdraft cooktops. There is no need to run ductwork outside so you can place your cooktop anywhere. You can easily install this cooktop and vent unit in an island over a concrete slab or in a high-rise apartment where there is no place to duct out. The exclusive *Jenn-Air JX3™ duct-free downdraft accessory kit attaches to the blower on the cooktop's downdraft unit, and has a unique **high airflow particulate air filter (HAPA) that captures smoke, steam, and grease thus eliminating the need for outside venting. The Jenn-Air JX3™ collection of cooktops consists of 6 different models. There is -

Appliance Brands to Remember
Appliances worth looking at. Names you may not recognize. Zephyr - Ariston - Liebherr - Eurochef - Scotsman There are dozens of appliance brands for sale in the U.S. Many of them have names that are not household words. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center carries most of the well-known appliance brands, but they also carefully select appliance brands that fit important needs, but may not necessarily be household names. Some of these brands are leading brands in their field, but are in categories that are not well known. For example, most consumers do not recognize the most popular brands of range hoods. So, we're going to be name droppers here. Most of the brands that are mentioned above you've probably not heard of, but they are brands that make great products that might fit well in your kitchen or laundry room. Zephyr, a pioneer in range hoods, has introduced their new Next Generation Europa range hoods, with a built-in state-of-the-art DCBL Suppression System. These hoods deliver a powerful yet pleasantly quiet cooking experience while barely using 14-watts of energy. The DCBL Suppression System is Zephyr's proprietary technology that powers the first even range hood to use this brushless DC motor technology. 77% Less Noise 77% Less Energy Consumed 30% More Power Exceeds Energy Star Requirements Ariston Laundry fits where others don't. If you have a challenge finding space for laundry, take a look at Ariston. With a leading market share in Europe, Ariston's 24" high performance product line offers -

More color in the kitchen
More POPS of color to make kitchens lively Today's kitchens are often a sea of stainless steel, contrasted perhaps by a granite top or wood-grained cabinets. In some contemporary-styled kitchens, the stainless may even be offset only by stark white cabinets and walls. Designers have taken to adding what they describe as "pops" of color. Some have boldly added color "accent" walls, while others have used colorful back-splashes. Here are some examples that might inspire you to color your kitchen. Below is a stainless steel kitchen inset in a wood-grained wall, behind a matching wood-grained island. With a white back-splash countertop, and ceiling the room desperately needs color. Fortunately, the floor to ceiling windows add greenery, and the orange bar chairs create a bright visual focal point. The wine colored wall of the narrow kitchen/dining area pictured below, boldly draws the viewer towards the kitchen and unifies the room. This European kitchen adds color by avoiding the wood-grain or white cabinets that are so often used in today's kitchens, and using bright orange cabinet panels. Sticking with the same orange theme, the color of the year for 2012, this kitchen back-splash provides that much talked about "POP" of color. Notice that this kitchen not only integrates the appliances with the blue-green (verdigris) kitchen cabinets, it also has a cream colored kitchen island with a contrasting dark countertop. Somehow, it all seems to work together, and in fact makes a small kitchen look larger. The kitchen below features -

Taking a Look at GE's New Slate Appliances
Slate: A new color from GE that's not quite Stainless Steel GE has launched a new appliance color, Slate, that quite literally takes the shine off stainless steel. It's worth a look. The muted grey finish really goes well with a variety of cabinet as well as countertop finishes. GE says that it not only looks good in a matched suite, but also works well in a kitchen with Stainless or other color appliances. The shiny brushed metal touch points (knobs, handles, etc.) provide a bit of contrast and also help bridge the slate color to tie together with stainless or other brushed finishes in a kitchen. Unlike Stainless Steel, the Slate finish resists fingerprints and is easy to keep clean. The subdued slate color is both unique and sophisticated. Offsetting a flat finish with bright polished accents gives the appliance an eye-appealing, streamlined look. The Slate Collection from GE includes a Freestanding French-Door Refrigerator, a choice of Ranges in both Electric and Gas, Over the Range Microwave, and Dishwashers. See selected slate products and features below: GE® ENERGY STAR® 28.6 Cu. Ft.
