Celebrate the Fourth of July with made in USA Appliances
Good News for Buyers of Made in the USA Appliances Get US Brand Appliances at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center If you are looking forward to the 4th of July holiday season with all the attending appliance sale events, you might think about buying American, and you might be surprised to find out that there are many good choices of high quality US brands made in the USA. Below is a blog we published last year detailing your options. It might be interesting and worthwhile to look at the landscape of appliance brands and manufacturing to identify the brands by nationality and by where they are manufactured. In other words, which brands are "American" brands and what is manufactured in the U.S. By the way, we mean "made" or "manufactured" to also include assembly. Most manufacturing facilities today are primarily assembly factories where parts are attached to a chassis. American brands of major appliances include Whirlpool and GE as full-line manufacturers. Whirlpool is the largest appliance manufacturer in the world though over half their sales are in the U.S. Their headquarters are in the U.S. and they are listed on the U.S. stock exchange. Whirlpool also makes and sells U.S. appliances under these brand names: Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, and Maytag. They claim that over 80% of the appliances they sell in the U.S. are made in the U.S. Though listed on the U.S. stock exchange, GE is a true multi-national, doing business all over the world making and selling everything -

When to Buy New Appliances
When is the best time to buy new Appliances? Most appliances are purchased as replacements. That usually means that there is an old dishwasher or refrigerator that is creaking and groaning or has already quit creaking and groaning and has given up entirely. Should you wait until this happens and max out your Mastercard at the least convenient time, or is there a better way? Here's an idea. How old are your appliances? If your dishwasher is nearing 10 years old and your refrigerator is a few years older than that, they're getting darn close to the end of their useful age. Rather than wait for their impending death, why not take advantage of opportunities to save money? There's a Memorial Day Sale going on right now at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC). It's true that there a few Holidays each year that are opportune times to buy appliances. Manufacturers roll out their best offers and retailers chip in with zero interest financing to get your business. Check out the holiday savings below and find some time to visit one of the two UAKC locations in Soucal this weekend. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center has the brands you're looking for. Choosing an Appliance Brand
Popular Name Brands vs Unfamiliar Brands Make your choice at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center When it's time to shop for appliances, choosing the right brand is an important part of the decision process. In spite of what you may have heard, they're not all made by just a few manufacturers. To sort this out let's first discuss the big brand names. GE, Whirlpool, and Frigidaire are the big 3. These are mega companies, home to a host of other name brands as listed below: General Electric Hotpoint GE GE Profile GE Cafe GE Monogram Whirlpool Amana Whirlpool Maytag KitchenAid Jenn-Air Frigidaire Frigidaire Electrolux (Parent company) Electrolux Icon At the luxury end of the market some of the big names include Wolf SubZero, Viking, Thermador, and Miele. While all the brands referred to above are well-known and well-positioned in their market segments, there are other lesser-known brands that deserve consideration as well. Here are just 2 examples: 1. BlueStar BlueStar is a brand of high-end cooking products - ranges, oven, and cooktops. The brand is focused on serving the consumer that wants restaurant style appliances for the home. A unique capability of BlueStar is the ability to customize your range. Over 190 colors are available and burners may be configured to your liking. Even though BlueStar is not a household name, their factory in Reading, PA. has been building stoves since 1880. 2. Speed Queen Speed Queen is a laundry company headquartered in Ripon, Wisconsin. They are a leading manufacturer -

Columbus Day Sale at Universal Appliance
Savings this week at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center 520 years ago Columbus landed on the shores of America. Today we celebrate Columbus Day as a Federal holiday on the second Monday of each October. The earliest recorded remembrance of Columbus' "discovery" of the New World was in 1792 on the 300th anniversary of his journey. However, the first celebration of Columbus Day was organized in 1866 by Italian residents of New York City. It wasn't until 1937 that President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared all October 12th's as Columbus Day, but in 1971 it was declared by Congress that the second Monday in October be recognized as a national holiday. So Monday October 8th, 2012 is Columbus Day, and it is only fitting that Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center UAKC would have some special offers to help celebrate the Holiday. Join the celebration and save now on these great deals. This price on a deluxe Stainless Steel KitchenAid dishwasher can't be beat. It's a $350 savings off the regular price! And the Giant 28 cu. ft. Electrolux French Door Refrigerator has a price so low, we can't advertise it here. Now that there are two great locations to visit, you'll find it twice as easy to save money at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center. Here are a few more examples of some of the savings during their Columbus Day Sale. While lots of guys might be particularly fond of this great deal, nearly half off, on a Viking Gas Grill, -

American Brand Appliances vs What is made in the U.S.
Having just finished the 4th of July holiday season with all the attending appliance sale events, it should be noted that at least one of the big box stores - the guys who wear orange aprons - had a newspaper tab with a patriotic theme, Red, White, and Blue sale featuring a Korean appliance brand. Don't be afraid of convection.
We've been selling convection ovens in the U.S. for decades. Yet, there are still many customers out there who shy away from convection for several reasons. Here are some important points to keep in mind: Convection is an option. Though I regularly use this feature in my oven at home, there are times when I elect not to use it. My wife usually does not use convection, but there are times that she chooses to. It's up to you whether you want to use the convection feature in your oven or not. Convection is easy to use. Many convection ovens today have an auto conversion feature allowing you to set your oven just as you normally would. The oven then converts the time/temperature as needed for convection cooking of your favorite recpe. Convection is more expensive. Well, yes. However, in most cases if you want a manufacturer's better range or oven convection is an included feature - just as power steering and automatic transmission is more expensive, but you can hardly get a car without it. We plan on blogging more about convection, but first we'd like to hear from you. Post your questions and comments in the comments section and we'll have our experts reply. Speaking of experts, our sales staff at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center can provide the expert help you need to select your new convection oven or any other appliance you may need. AND they'll get you a great price too. Call them at: 888
