These sleek and streamlined German engineered refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens, and cooktops have distinguished themselves as leaders in the premium and luxury categories. Bosch, Thermador, and Gaggenau (all part of the BSH corporate umbrella), Miele appliances, and now Liebherr refrigeration account for nearly all of the German brands sold in the U.S. The BSH brands have a considerable U.S. manufacturing footprint, while Miele and Leibherr build primarily in Germany. Their sensibility is to build their products to last 20 years or more. Part of the German brand success in the U.S. is the low energy use and water savings in their dishwashers. Buying a New Dishwasher
Choose the RIGHT Dishwasher for your needs.4 Dishwasher Buying TipsA customer was shopping for a new dishwasher at the big chain home improvement store. A dishwasher priced at $399 was next to another dishwasher priced at $499. He asked the sales associate, "What's the difference?" The orange aproned salesperson replied with a smirk, "A hundred dollars". Funny, but sad. How helpful is that kind of answer when you're investing hundreds of dollars on a product that you hope to have for 10 or more years? The first tip in buying a new dishwasher is to work with appliance specialists. Don't expect to get expert advice on appliances from a salesperson who also sells tools, lumber, lawn and garden supplies, and light bulbs. At Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) you'll receive expert help from appliance professionals. The associates at UAKC are factory trained and have years of appliance sales experience. Assess your needs. Spend some time thinking about what you want in a dishwasher. A person who lives alone, doesn't entertain, and eats most of his or her meals in a restaurant will need a vastly different dishwasher than the head of household for a family of 6 who entertains regularly, serves food on fine china, and uses premium glassware. Consider water consumption and energy savings. A dishwasher with a higher initial cost may in fact have a lower lifetime cost than a cheaper dishwasher that uses more electricity and more water. Compare features and benefits of different models and -

Save Money Everyday Using Your Appliances
Appliance Operation Tips from UAKCWe regularly use this blog to provide tips on how to save money on appliance purchases. See blogs below:Two Viking Range Events Will Save You MoneyLuxury Appliances on a BudgetHow to Get Free AppliancesHowever, today we're offering 5 tips on saving money on the operation of your appliances. Clean appliances operate more efficiently. A dirty gasket on your refrigerator can create air gaps and let cool air escape, causing the refrigerator to run more. Clogged up ports in your dishwasher spray arms make dishwasher run longer to get dishes clean. If possible run appliances during off peak hours to save on electricity. Many appliances have delay timers that allow users to set start and stop times. Use energy saving cycles. It's not enough just having a light wash, a vacation mode, or a cold water cycle on an appliance. In order to actually save energy/money appliance owners must select and utilize these cycles when appropriate. Clean filters regularly. Range hoods, dishwashers, refrigerators, and dryers, all may have filters that need to be either cleaned or replaced periodically so that they can operate properly and efficiently. Wash full loads in the dishwasher and washing machine. It takes as much water and electricity to run a complete cycle whether the appliance is full or half-full.Of course, when buying a new appliance from Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) look for an Energy Star appliance. An Energy Star dishwasher, for example, will use 41% less energy than the federal -

Reasons to Buy an Induction Cooktop or Range
4 Good Reasons to Consider InductionHere are four very good reasons you should consider induction if you are purchasing a new range or cooktop. If you think Induction might be for you, be sure to contact the cooking experts at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC). They carry all the major brands and have excellent selection and prices.1. Fast to heat Induction will heat faster than gas or conventional electric heating. One manufacturer has even touted that their induction cooktop will boil water in 90 seconds. Powerful electric coils under the glass surface create magnetic induction energy causing the metal cooking vessel to quickly heat up. The pan itself is what will cook your food in record time.2. Responsive Induction cooking is very responsive. Since the power turns on and off instantly and doesn't need to ramp up or down, you'll see boiling water stop boiling almost immediately when you turn off the power.3. Very little heat transfer to cooking surface Unlike traditional heating methods, the intense heat doesn't spread to the adjacent cooking surface, making cleanup a breeze. 4. Prices are the lowest ever.Just in the last year or two induction cooktops and ranges have dropped considerably in price. There are models for nearly any budget. Most appliance brands in the popular price range such as GE, Frigidaire, and Whirlpool now have induction models in their lineup. Upgrade brands such as KitchenAid, Bosch, GE Profile, and Electrolux have some great features and represent terrific values. For top of the line -
