Take a Fresh Look at GE Monogram
GE Monogram Belongs in the Luxury Appliance CategoryWhen considering luxury appliance brands, some have discounted GE Monogram not because of the products but because of the "GE" in the Monogram brand name. General Electric is a big name in appliances anchored with the GE name. They include GE, GE Profile, GE Cafe, GE Artistry Series, and GE Monogram. Luxury customers seeking exclusivity can be put off by the association of the Monogram line with its sister GE brands of lower esteem. This is unfortunate.Consider that Whirlpool uses Jenn-Air as their brand in the super premium category. Frigidaire is the mass brand for Electrolux, while Electrolux brand and Electrolux Icon are their top end brand names. The German company BSH has similarly segmented its brands Bosch, Thermador, and Gaggenau. But somehow it's just not the same because General Electric has kept its name on Monogram appliances as GE Monogram. However, there is plenty of differentiation between GE Monogram and GE's other brands. For example, GE Monogram has a really well-featured and attractive line of professional style ranges and rangetops completely different from anything in the the rest of their portfolio. If you want the appearance and performance of pro ranges or rangetops, you should definitely consider GE Monogram. In built-In refrigerators and wine units, GE Monogram is one of only a few brands that also offers a lineup of integrated models. These can be installed flush with hidden hinges to -

What's Your Appliance Style?
Choose Your Appliance Style UAKC has appliances for all styles Everybody has a style. In home exteriors some folks like Colonial, while others like Ranch Style, and yet others prefer Craftsmen style homes. That's just the beginning. Think of Georgian, Queen Anne, Greek Revival, Modern, Cottage style, etc. Similarly their are interior design styles. So, it should come as no surprise that appliances are also available in different styles. Whatever your preference, Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC), has the appliances to fit your style and your budget. Here are some of your options. If we categorize appliances by color alone, we'd miss the largest of all appliance categories which is not a color at all, but a finish - Stainless Steel. However, more than just a color or a finish, is the overall "look" or style of appliances. For example, while stainless steel is a finish, there are stainless steel appliances that have big bulky knobs and large dowel type handles, that have an industrial or restaurant feel. These appliances are usually referred to as Professional Style appliances. On the other hand, there are appliances that have a very sleek, minimalist look. They are often flush with the surrounding cabinets. This look is very popular in luxury European kitchens, so lets call these appliances Euro-Style. There is also a recent trend towards appliances that are built with a Retro-Style. These appliances may be designed to replicate the appliances of old, or -

Why Kitchen Packages Make Sense
Kitchen Packages at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center Why do manufacturers offer a rebate (ie. a lower price) for ordering a complete kitchen package than the combined price if you bought each one separately? You'd think that it costs them the same to build a refrigerator whether it is sold as part of a kitchen package or not, wouldn't you? There are a couple of very good reasons for package pricing. Of course, the actual manufacturing cost of a refrigerator does not change whether it is sold as part of a package or not. And Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) is always there to help whether you are buying just one appliance or a complete set. However, there is a cost to acquiring a customer, including advertising and other marketing costs that manufacturers incur just to get a customer. So, if you are going to buy a kitchen full of appliances (range, vent hood, dishwasher, and refrigerator) the acquisition cost of 1 customer for 4 appliances is 1/4 the acquisition cost of 4 customers for 4 appliances. Makes sense then that GE is willing to offer up to a $500 rebate on a new set of their new Cafe Series GE appliances. Click on image below to get *rebate details:*Rebate expires Feb. 5, 2014 Appliance manufacturers also aggressively pursue market share. Every additional appliance you purchase from a given manufacturer is one less that you purchase from their competitor. Therefore, they -

Choosing an Appliance Brand
Get the Appliance Brand that Fits UAKC Has Great Selection and Low Prices If you are building a home or remodeling, you'll need to think about selecting the appliance brand that best suits your needs. Just like clothing or automobiles, appliance brands make a "statement" and the brand you select should be a good fit for the house you are building or the kitchen you are remodeling. At Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center, (UAKC) the sales associates will help you select the appliances that are the right "fit" for you. Appliance brands can be categorized along dimensions such as price, lifestyle or even generational such as millenial, Gen X or Y, boomer, etc. To make it easy we combine and simplify along mass brands, premium, super premium, and luxury brands. Think of mass brands as including Frigidaire, GE, Maytag, and Whirlpool. Premium brands would include Bosch, GE Profile, GE Cafe, and KitchenAid. Among the super premium brands are Electrolux, Jenn-Air, and Thermador. Luxury brands include GE Monogram, Wolf Sub Zero, Gaggenau, Miele, and Viking. These are broad categories are there are no hard rules here so some appliance professionals will argue for example that Thermador could be included in the luxury category, and that Maytag laundry should be considered a premium brand. But you get the idea. These are ALL good respectable brands, but they are positioned by their companies with pricing and features to fit in certain niches. The reason it's important for consumers to have a general idea
