Bottom Freezer Refrigerators at UAKC
Popular Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Style Advantages of Modern Bottom Freezer Refrigerators Refrigerators with the freezer on the bottom have been around for a long time. Much of the credit for popularizing this configuration goes to Amana. During the 80's and 90's when Side-by-Side refrigerators were all the rage, Amana continued to promote refrigerators with a freezer section on the bottom. Eventually, they introduced a version with double doors in the refrigerator section and the French Door refrigerator revolution began. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) has been selling and promoting these refrigerator models for many years and carries most of the brands that offer this configuration. French Door refrigerators are also bottom freezer refrigerators because they do in fact also have a freezer on the bottom, but we're going to confine our review here to bottom freezer refrigerators with a single door on the top. Brands including Amana, Frigidaire, GE, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Maytag, Fisher & Paykel, Sub Zero, Whirlpool and others are available with a freezer on the bottom. These refrigerators come in the following configurations: The freezer doors may swing out just as in the Amana below, but the most popular models have freezers that pull out. Styling varies. One of the more recent models introduced from the GE Artistry Series has a look that is both retro and trendy. Most bottom freezers refrigerators will come with an icemaker in the freezer compartment, and many will have internal water dispensers. Only a few manufacturers such as Fisher & Paykel -

What's Your Appliance Style?
Choose Your Appliance Style UAKC has appliances for all styles Everybody has a style. In home exteriors some folks like Colonial, while others like Ranch Style, and yet others prefer Craftsmen style homes. That's just the beginning. Think of Georgian, Queen Anne, Greek Revival, Modern, Cottage style, etc. Similarly their are interior design styles. So, it should come as no surprise that appliances are also available in different styles. Whatever your preference, Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC), has the appliances to fit your style and your budget. Here are some of your options. If we categorize appliances by color alone, we'd miss the largest of all appliance categories which is not a color at all, but a finish - Stainless Steel. However, more than just a color or a finish, is the overall "look" or style of appliances. For example, while stainless steel is a finish, there are stainless steel appliances that have big bulky knobs and large dowel type handles, that have an industrial or restaurant feel. These appliances are usually referred to as Professional Style appliances. On the other hand, there are appliances that have a very sleek, minimalist look. They are often flush with the surrounding cabinets. This look is very popular in luxury European kitchens, so lets call these appliances Euro-Style. There is also a recent trend towards appliances that are built with a Retro-Style. These appliances may be designed to replicate the appliances of old, or -

Appliance Manufacturer Rebates and Offers
Rebates Now Available at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center There was a time...back in the 80's when there was no such thing as an appliance rebate. Apparently, manufacturer rebates first began to appear in retail stores such as grocers as a variation on coupons. Instead of redeeming coupons at the grocer, consumers had to mail them in with proof of purchase. Eventually, rebates spread to other businesses and today they are a major part of appliance retailing. GE was an early adopter of rebate promotions to encourage buyers to purchase GE appliances. click on the photo below for details: Manufacturers use rebates as part of their overall marketing program to encourage consumers to buy their brand, but just as importantly to buy a specific appliance model or even a complete kitchen appliance package. For a long time, rebates were limited to the popular mass brands such as Frigidaire, GE, and Whirlpool. Luxury brands Sub Zero Wolf, Viking, and others eschewed rebates in the beginning, but eventually succumbed to using rebates as a promotional tactic. click on the photo below for details: It's good to know, however, that rebates DO come and go. All rebate programs are going to have beginning dates and expiration dates. Rebates might last for a year, but they also might be good only for a few days. It's always going to be a good idea to check with the experts at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center to find out what rebates are available when you are -

KBIS and IBS to Showcase New Appliances and Plumbing Fixtures
International Builders Show andKitchen And Bath Industry Show On Feb. 3-6, 2014 the International Builders Show (IBS) and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) for the first time will be co-locating their shows at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Product lines that will be showcased include many of the major appliance and plumbing fixture brands that you can find at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC). Appliance brands participating at the show include Frigidaire, Electrolux, BSH (Bosch, Thermador, and Gaggenau), Viking, Dacor, Liebherr, and others. Plumbing lines such as Brizo, KWC, Toto, Everpure, and many more will also exhibit. Trade shows allow manufacturers to display their products to the builders, contractors, dealers, distributors, designers, and remodelers who purchase and use their products. Manufacturers often show new products to get opinions and recommendations from industry veterans. The shows also provide an annual opportunity for customers to meet with suppliers, discuss concerns, and plan the year ahead. Just to give you an idea, induction cooking has been previewed at these shows for at least 10-15 years. Now, it is finally a reality with nearly all cooking product manufacturers offering some induction cooktops and/or ranges. Similarly, various speed cooking products have been shown over the years with mixed success. Both GE and Whirlpool have versions (Advantium and Velos) on the market now, but Thermador's Jet Impingement system shown in the early 2000's never launched. What will we see this year? Odds are there will be -

Why Kitchen Packages Make Sense
Kitchen Packages at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center Why do manufacturers offer a rebate (ie. a lower price) for ordering a complete kitchen package than the combined price if you bought each one separately? You'd think that it costs them the same to build a refrigerator whether it is sold as part of a kitchen package or not, wouldn't you? There are a couple of very good reasons for package pricing. Of course, the actual manufacturing cost of a refrigerator does not change whether it is sold as part of a package or not. And Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) is always there to help whether you are buying just one appliance or a complete set. However, there is a cost to acquiring a customer, including advertising and other marketing costs that manufacturers incur just to get a customer. So, if you are going to buy a kitchen full of appliances (range, vent hood, dishwasher, and refrigerator) the acquisition cost of 1 customer for 4 appliances is 1/4 the acquisition cost of 4 customers for 4 appliances. Makes sense then that GE is willing to offer up to a $500 rebate on a new set of their new Cafe Series GE appliances. Click on image below to get *rebate details:*Rebate expires Feb. 5, 2014 Appliance manufacturers also aggressively pursue market share. Every additional appliance you purchase from a given manufacturer is one less that you purchase from their competitor. Therefore, they -
