New Induction Cooking Products to watch in 2014
Trends in Induction Ranges and Cooktops Induction Cooking at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center 2014 may be the "year of induction" when it comes to ranges and cooktops. All the major manufacturers seem to have joined the fray. Prices have never been better, and choices abound with a variety of outstanding features all available at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) . Brands include everything from Gaggenau, Wolf, and Viking in the luxury categories to Bosch and KitchenAid in the affordable premium category, and GE, Frigidaire, and Whirlpool among the mass brands. Today, there are induction cooktops in both popular sizes of 30" and 36" as well as ranges in free-standing, slide-in, and double oven configurations. There is even a "hybrid" range which offers both conventional radiant cooking as well as induction. Here are just a few interesting choices: Most Flexibility in an Induction CooktopThe Thermador Freedom 36" Cooktop contains 48 - 3" induction coils that give the consumer the ability to move pans around anywhere on the cooktop, hence the term "Freedom". It's a clever design that provides great flexibility for the user. As you might expect, all those coils come at a price but if you're in the luxury market this item should be part of your consideration set. Most Powerful Induction Cooktops. Internet Enabled Appliances in 2014
Smart Appliances at CES Internet enabled appliances available today at UAKC LG Home Chat at CES 2014 They've got an APP for that! Each year appliance manufacturer's seem to use the January CES (Consumer Electronics Show) as a launchpad for their latest Jetson Style innovation. This year is no exception. LG Home Chat allows users to manage their connected appliances and devices with an SMS interface -- you'll literally be able to send your refrigerator, washing machine, robot vacuum, or other smart appliance a command or question via text message, then get a response. It pays to remember that more than a decade ago, it was at the CES that LG launched its $10,000 DIOS internet enabled refrigerator which is no longer being made, and Sun Microsystem's Scott McNealy showed a Whirlpool refrigerator paired with a tablet PC that never made it to market. Nevertheless, appliance manufacturer's are again sticking their toes into the internet waters hoping that they will not once again receive a chilly response. This time the high tech appliances don't just occupy "dream" space, but are a real part of their appliance lineup. Dacor Discovery iQ DYO230 Last year Dacor introduced it's internet connected Discovery IQ Oven in a single and double oven version. This week at the CES, Dacor unveiled a similarly enabled 6 burner range with an oven featuring the same Android powered OS. Here's the wall oven along with a writeup from Dacor highlighting its -

Appliance Colors for 2014
Alternatives to Stainless Steel Choosing Appliance Colors at UAKC Pantone has chosen Radiant Orchid as the color of the year for 2014. If nothing else, this color is sure to be a conversation starter. In major appliances, Stainless Steel continues to reign supreme, though stainless steel has not been without its challengers. A few years ago, Jenn-Air introduced Oiled Bronze appliances as a designer finish, but while it attracted a lot of attention, few sales followed. Viking has had an extensive array of colors available in it's appliance line, now pared down to about a dozen favorites. Taking a more conservative approach, Wolf has elected to add a black glass look to its oven lineup, and the German brand Miele has added Brilliant White Plus to its sleek European kitchen aesthetic.GE recently introduced a line of appliances in Slate, as a less expensive alternative to Stainless Steel, and Whirlpool is touting its Ice Collection - shiny white or black with stainless accents. BlueStar ranges offer over 750 color and finish combinations (see Radiant Orchid below), while Italian brand, Bertazzoni also has jumped on the color bandwagon. Several other European brands are also available in various colors. They include SMEG, La Cornue, and AGA.Designers have been adding touches of color to monochromatic kitchens for interest and contrast. Maybe, a few colorful appliances will help brighten your kitchen. For expert help selecting colorful or not -

New Years Appliance Resolutions
Planning Your New Appliance Purchases Considerations for Buying New Appliances Here's a New Year Resolution list for planning your appliance purchases in 2014: Take inventory of your potential appliance needs by determining the age and condition of your existing appliances. If your washing machine is 12 years old, and has been making funny noises, you should anticipate that you'll be needing a new washer sooner rather than later. Budget for appliance replacement. Begin setting aside money to replace that clunky old washing machine. Even if you can fund part of the purchase from this appliance reserve fund, it might mean the difference between getting a "bare bones" product versus the one you really want and need. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) carries most major brands and models. For example, you can select a new washer from among great brand names such as Frigidaire, GE, LG, Maytag, and Whirlpool. Some appliances get replaced before they have failed, such as in a new kitchen remodel project. Here too, you can do some advance planning. If you're working with a design firm, they can help you get started. The professionals at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) are always there to answer your questions and guide you through the process. Appliances are a big part of a kitchen remodel. Don't blow your budget on granite countertops and fancy cabinets only to find out you can't afford the appliances you've always dreamed of. Allow sufficient upfront order and delivery time for special orders. -

Appliances and Plumbing Fixtures in 2014
More Great Appliance and Plumbing Values in 2014 Best Selection and Prices at Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center What can customers expect in appliances and plumbing fixtures in 2014? The industry will continue to feature products which represent tremendous values for consumers. If you look at the price of a refrigerator thirty years ago, you'd find that a really good price on a side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser would be between $1300 and $1500. Today, you can get a side-by-side refrigerator with dispenser for around $1000, AND it will cost much less to operate than ever before! Think about that. Consider the cost of a new car thirty years ago and compare it with the cost of a new car today. The cost of cars has increased many times over! While luxury appliances can be very expensive, the range of prices and selections in appliances has never been wider. At Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC), customers can select from the finest appliances the industry has to offer, but they can also find major brand appliances to fit any budget. Popular priced mass appliance brands such as Frigidaire, GE, Amana, and Whirlpool are regularly featured at UAKC sale prices. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center also offers a wide variety of plumbing fixtures in top brands such as Toto, Brizo, HansGrohe, and others.
