Directions

If you're coming from the North take the 101 to Exit # 14 at Laurel Canyon Boulevard. Go South on Laurel Canyon Boulevard to Ventura Boulevard. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center (UAKC) is located on the right in the shopping center on the Southwest corner.

If you're coming from the South take the 101 Freeway to Exit #12B and head West on Ventura Boulevard to Laurel Canyon Boulevard. Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center is located on the left in the shopping center on the Southwest corner.

Free parking is available on the ground level and there is also an underground parking garage. If you use the underground garage, be sure and have the parking stub validated.

Upon entering you'll notice that Universal Appliance and Kitchen Center has a large and spacious showroom, yet at the same time it is chocked full of merchandise. Walking to the center, there is a sales rotunda where you'll find sales associates busy at their computers and on the phone helping customers. They're very approachable and they're there to help so just step right up.

If you prefer to take a few moments to walk around and get your bearings, that's OK too. They'll be happy to point you in the right direction. You'll also find sales desks sprinkled throughout the showroom so you're never far from a helpful associate.

One of the best features of this showroom is that there is a well-conceived combination of kitchen vignettes as well as appliance “line-ups”. It's good to have an idea of what your appliances might look like in a kitchen setting, but it's also nice to have a row of appliances to compare one appliance to the next. Many of the kitchen vignettes have operating appliances so that you can see how they work. In fact, UAKC hosts frequent cooking demonstrations for appliance vendors to showcase their products.

In addition to having both appliance vignettes as well as rows and walls of appliances, UAKC has a full spectrum of appliance brands and models covering the entire range of popular price points. Some appliance outlets only carry inexpensive mass market brands – others specialize in only luxury products. UAKC wants to be your appliance vendor, and offers appliance and kitchen products for all customer needs and budgets. They carry most major brands as well as most of the exclusive luxury brands.

When you start visiting with the staff at UAKC, you can't help but notice the diversity. While many are bilingual, you'd be surprised to find them speaking not necessarily English/Spanish but also Russian, Vietnamese, and more. One language that they all speak fluently is appliances. You won't find a crew more dedicated to finding the right appliances at the best prices for their customers.
