I love this cooktop!

IÕve had this cooktop for close to 4 years and I absolutely love it! I love having no knobs, it makes it so easy to clean and it has a very sleek look in my kitchen. The cooktop surface has held up well over the years and still looks brand new. At first I wasnÕt sure about all the white specks on the top (I thought I wanted a plain black finish), but now I realize that it actually hides some of the dirt and streaks when I havenÕt had a chance to clean it yet. ItÕs really easy to clean too since I can just wipe it without any knobs getting in the way. And, of course, it cooks great. It heats up quickly and cooks evenly. My only complaint is that with the front right burner, which can be used as a single or dual burner, you have to hit the sensor once for single and twice for dual. I can sometimes forget to hit it twice and then IÕm wondering why itÕs taking so long to cook. Other than that I love it as much today as when I got it 4 years ago.

My new cooktop was delivered and installed yesterday (5/28/2020) and today I removed the protective plastic sheet to find the entire cooktop was covered with thousands of pits. They cannot be removed, they are integral to the Schott-Ceran ceramic.

We installed this stovetop in 2/20. For the most part it has met our expectations except in 2 areas. First off, every time you wish to turn ON a burner, change temperature etc. you are required to tap 2 different locations on the stovetop. Turning ON a burner when the stovetop is OFF requires 3 different taps of the controls. This may not sound like a big deal but electronics should be making our lives simpler, easier and less time consuming. These controls take us backwards. Our old stovetop had knobs and you just turn the knob to the setting you wanted. Very simple. Not with this stovetop. This is very annoying. Now I know LG will tell you this is part of their safety features to prevent children from turning on the stovetop. But we don't need this feature as we don't have kids at home. LG could have provided a switch to bypass these safety features. The 2nd thing we noticed is the ceramic top has air bubbles in it. Very strange. Not sure what's going on here and tried to get the store I bought it from to swap my unit out with one that does not have this problem. Black ceramic stovetops of other brands I have seen in stores do not have these air bubbles in them. Shortly after the stovetop installation in 2/20 I asked the store to replace it with one without bubbles. They agreed and said they placed a replacement order. But here it is 5/20 and nothing has happened.

This is our second one of these stoves. Our last one lasted for 5 years before the touch quit working. Then we bought a replacement. Now the replacements touch buttons has also quit working. Looking through the reviews i am not the only one with this issue. I would have hope the new cooktop would have had upgraded boards to fix the issue but it is not the case. the new stove was manufactured in late 2019 and the issue is still there. I will not buy another LG cook top. This is too bad because all my appliances and even my tv is LG.

Bought all new LG appliances for our kitchen just over 2 months ago. 5 burner cooktop is awesome. Gets hot quickly enough to boil water in a few minutes. Looks great, too.
