Self cleaning cycle

Our old built in wall oven died and could not be repaired. We live in a 50 year old home the new wall oven area was small and would only accommodate a 24 inch unit. You are limited in availability for this size of a wall oven. When we went to do the self cleaning cycle for the fist time the oven shut down after an hour. The oven door locked and could not be opened, went to the home fuse box and found nothing tripped. We reset the fuse for the oven any way no luck. My wife google the unit and found reviews on this subject confirming that others had experienced the same problem. The oven is under warranty so we called for factory service. Help was on the way. Tech was polite and worked fast he acknowledge that he has seen this with this unit before. I asked what we could do differently so this would not happen again. I was told nothing try cleaning the oven again on the self clean cycle. We had to take trim pieces off and pull the oven out of the wall and replace the thermostat. The oven works but we have not tried to use the self cleaning cycle yet.

I am enjoying my new oven. There are some changes, the broiler takes more time to heat up, but over all I have no complaints.
