This is my second kitchenmaid compactor, which I have had for 30 years, I replaced it because I changed all appliances to stainless steel fronts

Always have to compact two times

When we engage the compactor, the next time we go to open the drawer we cannot. We must compact a second time to then be able to open the drawer.

We love our new compactor. It is working perfectly. It is very durable and quiet for this type of appliance. It matches great with our other stainless steel appliances. I would definitely recommend it!
